Claudia Helming founded the Internet company DaWanda in 2006 and serves as its managing director. DaWanda is one of the most popular commercial enterprises in Germany.
300,000 creative individuals and designers sell some four million unique items and products in limited editions on DaWanda and, to date, the social commerce platform has gained 5,2 million members.
DaWanda has 300,000 manufactures from jewellery, clothing, bag, toys, and furniture. 5,2 million users are logged onto the portal and approximately 5 million products traded. The website has seven different country versions, adapted to the regional needs of local customers.
Claudia studied Romance Languages and Tourism at LMU Munich, and then worked as Head of Operations at lastminute.com. This was followed by a Business Development role at Passado where she met her business partner. DaWanda was ranked fourth on the “Proposition Index 2012” by strategy consulting company OC&C. The German-language Startup Monitor of authority GmbH & Co. KG found DaWanda to be the most popular start-up selected by internet users on several different occasions. Venture Village named Claudia one of the “Top 10 Most Charming CEOs of Berlin” in 2012, “Top Women in Tech in Germany” and she was also on the list Girls inTech “Top 100 Women in Tech in Europe” for 2012.
Claudia was featured in Inspiring Fifty: Europe 2015.
