Colleen had the idea for Techsixtyfour in Aug 2015 after hearing that a little boy was lost during a visit to a farm park with her 2 children. She couldn’t help but think there had to be a better way to deal with such stressful situations. Being a mum gave her the push to develop the Gator watch, a wearable mobile phone/tracker for young children which has no internet, social media or games. Colleen is also a strong advocate of less screen time for young children.
The Gator watch began to sell on the UK market online at www.techsixtyfour.com in April 2016 and is currently selling at Bentalls Kingston, Amazon and will launch in Jan 2017 at John Lewis. With 5 star reviews from parents and major Technology and Parenting magazines such as Stuff Magazine, Junior Magazine and T3.com, the Gator watch is 1 of 2 gaining traction quickly and Colleen is working on bringing the Gator watch to other European countries in 2017.
Techsixtyfour has also signed with a new distributor who will begin to sell the watch to the elderly market, an area with phenomenal growth potential and major gap in the market that the Gator watch can fill.
Colleen was selected as one of 2016’s Small Business Saturday Champions and invited to 10 Downing Street in December 2016 to market the Gator watch and to meet the Minister of Small Business. She was also a finalist at the National Business Awards 2016 in the category of New Entrepreneur of the Year. In Jan 2017, she has been selected by KPMG Accounting as a Shift 100 entrepreneurs.
Colleen previously worked as Vice President – Sales at 2 investment banks in the UK before leaving investment banking in 2013 to start a family. Colleen holds a MBA from INSEAD.
